Long-time Estes Park resident Bo Winslow has been named Events Support and Facilities Manager for the Estes Park Convention & Visitors Bureau. He assumed duties April 2.
“We’re pleased Bo has agreed to lead the fairground through significant change,” said Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Tom Pickering said. “This is an exciting time at the fairgrounds with the commitment from the town board and build from the master plan a year-around entertainment and event facility. Bo’s keen knowledge of the community and equine events will prove invaluable,” Pickering added. Winslow’s duties include managing operations of the fairgrounds at Stanley Park during and following the current phased capital expansion of the 42-acre parcel on the east edge of Estes Park. Prior to his being named to the Town of Estes Park position, Winslow was Site and Facility Director and Ranch Manager at Cheley Colorado Camps for the past 21 years. In that position he was responsible for staffing selection, training and management, horse related operations, and management of water and wastewater treatment plants. Winslow also is past president of the Certified Horsemanship Association, an international group that promotes excellence in safety and education for the benefit of individuals and group riding programs in the horse industry. CHA certifies riding instructors and trail guides, accredits equestrian facilities and provides support and educational resources for all equestrians throughout the United States and Canada. In addition to that organization, Winslow volunteers with the Estes Park Fire Department, has been a soccer coach for the Estes Valley Recreation and Park District, and is a founder and board member of Opportunities for Burn Survivors Foundation. Winslow and his wife, Lauri, have a son, Justin who will graduated from Estes Park High School and plans to attend Fort Lewis College in the fall. Their daughter, Nicole, is a freshman and avid swimmer. “I’m excited to work with all of our events this summer and meet our wonderful committee members and volunteers. I’m looking forward to the challenges the position offers,” Winslow said. |
