Estes Park residents can enjoy a grand night of song and dance celebrating America at the fourth annual Estes Park Sings concert April 27 and 28th in the Estes Park High School auditorium. Tickets go on sale March 15.

“All the performers had a meeting the other night and I have never seen that much energy in one room in my life,” gushed Julie Phares, president of the Estes Park Rotary Club, which stages the annual songfest. “They’re excited about the theme, the songs, the costumes, the glitter, the whole Las Vegas thing. I think this is going to be the best show so far.”

“Estes Park Sings Across America: A Musical Road Trip” is the title of this year’s show. It follows a couple as they travel across America enjoying the various forms of music from Hawaii to California, Colorado, Texas, Tennessee, and on to New York City.

On stage will be 32 performers, an eight piece band, costumes, photographic slides depicting various parts of the country, and 47 songs in two acts. Some of the songs include: “I Left My Heart in San Francisco,” a medley of Beach Boy hits, “Deep in the Heart of Texas,” “Route 66,” “Viva Las Vegas,” “Oklahoma,” “Chicago,” “Heard It on the Grapevine,” “Shenandoah,” an operatic selection, “Home in Colorado,” “Take Me Home Country Roads,” and a host of patriotic songs.

Among those performing those songs will be Brad and Kathy Fitch, Valeri Dascoli, Jan McGowan, Scott Anderson, Chris Wood, Richard Wood, The Music Men, the Kings of Swing, Charles Phares, Chris Gallagher, and probably a few surprises before the evening is out.

“The first Estes Park Sings show four years ago just had eight performers. This year there are 32. This shows how much this show has grown,” said Phares.

Tickets for the show are available at the Estes Park Visitors Center, 500 Big Thompson Ave. Tickets are $20. All proceeds from the show go to the scholarship fund of the Estes Park Rotary Foundation. The performers all donate their services.
