More and more families are discovering that winter hikes are great fun, particularly with snowshoes strapped onto feet. Snowshoeing has become one of the most popular means of exploring Rocky Mountain National Park during the winter months. It’s the easiest way to hike on snow-covered trails that can’t be managed on foot, using a means that is much easier to master than cross country skis.
Anyone who hikes can master snowshoeing in a few minutes. Youngsters of all ages can see rabbit and mice tracks in the snow. Grandparents and parents alike find it to be a great activity to enjoy with children as young as four and five.
Each winter Rocky Mountain National Park rangers lead free weekend tours. For details call 970-586-1206.
